Golden retrievers are intelligent, trustworthy, and affectionate dogs, making them the quintessential family dog.

They are eager to please, making them highly trainable and suitable for homes with young children. Give them a comfy place and they’ll snuggle with you. While they want to protect their space, they also want to be best friends with everyone, including other dogs.

Playful with just the right amount of energy. Not too crazy and not super lazy. They love playing tug-of-war or fetching balls and sticks in the yard. Sprinkled with some good afternoon naps.

These devoted dogs typically weigh between 55 and 65 pounds for females and 65 and 75 pounds for males. And have a life expectancy of 10-12 years.
